Fire Razes Shops in Ore

Goods and property worth millions of naira were destroyed in an early morning inferno that razed several shops in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday in the Idi Mango area of Ore.

This disaster follows closely on the heels of a similar incident at Iso-Onigari in Ore, just a few days prior to this incident.

It was learned that ten shops, primarily dealing in sewing machines and motorcycles, were completely gutted.

Among the other shops affected were a fashion design shop, a chemist shop, and a hairdressing salon, among others.

Eyewitnesses who spoke with our correspondent attributed the fire to an electrical surge.

Upon visiting the scene, our correspondent observed the shop owners, distraught over their losses, appealing to the state government for assistance as their primary means of livelihood had been obliterated.

The fire was eventually extinguished through the combined efforts of firefighters and local residents.
