FG releases appointments of 331 directors in federal civil service

The Federal Government has announced the promotion of 331 directors within the federal civil service, according to reports from Sunday PUNCH.

These newly appointed directors were part of a pool of 697 candidates who participated in the oral interviews held on November 4, 2024.

Earlier, in May 2024, the Federal Civil Service Commission had issued a notification regarding the promotion and evaluation process for senior civil servants at Grade Levels 14, 15, and 16.

The written assessments for the promotion process took place from August 12 to August 17, 2024.

Following the written exams, the Civil Service Commission called in those who passed for oral interviews on October 11, 2024, and subsequently released an additional list of candidates on October 21, 2024.

The final list of promotions was released in a memo signed by Prof. Tunji Olaopa, Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

“Following the Year 2024 Directorate Level Promotion/Evaluation Exercise, the Federal Civil Service Commission has approved the promotion of the following Officers in the Federal Civil Service from Salary Grade Levels 14 to 15, 15 to 16, and 16 to 17, effective January 1, 2024,” stated Olaopa in the memo.

According to the document reviewed by Punch, only 331 out of the 697 candidates who were shortlisted for the oral interviews received promotions.
