The Federal Government has launched a revamped curriculum for pre-primary schools, targeting improvements in early childhood education.
This initiative is detailed in the 2025 budget currently awaiting approval from the National Assembly.
The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) is spearheading the project, with N22.82 million dedicated to implementing the one-year pre-primary curriculum and N30.63 million allocated to revising and executing an early childhood education framework.
Additionally, the government has set aside N151 million for secondary school curriculum development, Guardian reports.
The updated senior secondary curriculum is expected to be rolled out by September 2025, aiming to equip students with modern skills for better learning outcomes and employability.
