FG generated N2.4bn from marriages in 2024 – Interior minister Tunji-Ojo

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo says federal Government generated about N2.4 billion in 2024 from marriage contracts via its marriage registry at the Ministry of Interior.

Tunji-Ojo disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja during a media interface.

He said the ministry also generated over N3.2 billion from expatriate quota applications, saying there was a 150 percent increase in overall revenue generated.

Furthermore, the Federal Government also disclosed that it repatriated 828 foreigners to their various countries in 2024.

While he did not list their specific offences, he said the repatriation was carried out by the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS.
