FG declares Tuesday public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, 1st October 2024, a public holiday to commemorate the Nation’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.

The Federal Government’s declaration was made on Saturday by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo through a statement released by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Tunji-Ojo expressed gratitude to Nigerians both domestically and overseas for this momentous occasion, praising the persevering and diligent Nigerian men and women and assuring them that their sacrifices would not go unappreciated.

Recalling that “a Nigeria of our dream can only be built when we unite,” he emphasized that Nigerians must think back on the “labour of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead.”

Tunji-Ojo wished Nigerians a happy anniversary of Independence Day and urged them to stay steadfast in their nation-building efforts.
