Activist and lawyer, Dele Farotimi, is still dealing with four lawsuits in different states, all filed by lawyers from Afe Babalola’s firm.
This comes after Aare Afe Babalola agreed to withdraw criminal charges against Farotimi in January 2025.
Farotimi had been arrested and faced trials for defamation and cyberbullying after Babalola accused him of defaming him in his book, Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
The legal action began following a petition to the police commissioner in Ekiti State.
However, after intervention from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and other traditional leaders, Babalola decided to drop the charges.
Despite the withdrawal of the criminal cases, Farotimi revealed that he still faces ongoing civil lawsuits.
He expressed that these cases, which are still pending in four states, were filed by Babalola’s law office.
Farotimi emphasized that his book was carefully researched and not a result of casual conversation or false claims, urging those who disagree to read it and challenge the truth of his statements.
