Farm Owner, Manager Kidnapped in Akure

A farm estate owner, Olanrewaju Oyeleye, 50, and his farm manager, whose identity remains unknown, were abducted on Friday morning at their farmland in Oba-Ile, along Akure Airport Road, Ondo State.

According to sources close to the victims, the kidnappers contacted Oyeleye’s family on Saturday, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.

Oyeleye, who had lived abroad for several years, returned to Akure four years ago to invest in mechanized farming.

Confirming the incident to Weekend Hope, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, stated that security operatives have been working tirelessly to track the abductors and rescue the victims.

“The kidnapping happened early Thursday morning, and we have been actively pursuing leads to ensure their safe return,” he assured.

It is a terrible situation in Nigeria. This man returned to Nigeria to make business for himself and create jobs for people to help the socio economic situation of the country but now found himself in the den of kidnappers. How do you encourage people not to Japa and tell my Nigerians abroad to come home and invest in the country.

D federal govt & d security forces are not doing enough to stem kidnapping & other security issues in d country..dis is very unfortunate..
May God help in securing d release of d victims unharmed..

  Leave Security Forces out of it and face the corrupt, conscienceless, compromised and cancerous governments your people keep voting every 4 years. All the security forces, the federal civil service, various MDAs, politicians of all cadres and even the polity and neighboring countries sabotaging us will all sit up if an independent patriotic and visionary government without greed is voted in.
