Family Announces Burial Date for Veteran actor, Jimi Solanke

The family of the late legendary folk music artiste, Olujimi Solanke, has released the burial date for the deceased.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the family said the late veteran actor will be laid to rest on Friday, April 5, at a private cemetery, while funeral services will take place at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.

The family announced that the week-long activities will conclude with the final burial on April 5, 2024, in Ipara-Remo, his hometown in Ogun State.

According to the family of the late Solanke, the burial arrangements will commence with a Choral Concert at Ibudo Asa, Ipara Remo on Monday, April 1, 2024 alongside events like; night of tribute at Freedom Park, Lagos, candlelight precession at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Osun State, candlelight precession at Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.

The burial programmes will come to an end on April 7, 2024, with a thanksgiving service.

The burial programme stated that April 1-3 have been designated for various groups, associations and professional bodies to celebrate the deceased, while Christian Wake will be held on April 4 at Methodist Church Nigeria, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State.

Solanke, who passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the age of 81, was a multifaceted artist known for his achievements in music, dance, playwriting, acting, visual arts, and poetry
