EndBadGovernance: Edo Police move to share sachet water, sweets to protesters

With the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests about to commence, the Edo State Police Command has affirmed its readiness to protect peaceful demonstrators.

In a statement to journalists on Wednesday evening, Commissioner of Police Funsho Adegboye revealed that sachet water and sweets will be provided to protesters, contingent on the demonstrations remaining peaceful.

Adegboye said, “We had a meeting with some leaders of the protest, we have agreed that it must be peaceful, we are going to protect them but there will be no blocking of roads or violence.”

“Police will protect and support them with sachet water and sweet. We have agreed that they will only occupy the Kings Square, which is the venue of the protest,” he stated.

Acknowledging the citizens’ right to protest, the police commissioner assured that residents who choose not to participate in the demonstrations are free to continue with their daily activities.

However, Adegboye issued a stern warning to potential troublemakers, stating that any attempts to disrupt the protest would be met with decisive action.
