Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, has emphasized that he is not one to pretend in politics and that he will not follow the example of those who act like “Nollywood actors” when in government.
According to Vanguard, Responding to a social media post that praised his forthright approach to governance, el-Rufai made it clear: “I truly don’t know how to pretend. Being a Nollywood actor in governance is for others, not for me,” he shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.
This comment comes amid ongoing tensions between el-Rufai and members of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
El-Rufai had recently voiced his discontent with the All Progressives Congress (APC), criticizing the party for straying from its core values and stating that he no longer recognizes himself within the party.
In response, Daniel Bwala, a presidential aide, suggested that el-Rufai’s stance might have been different if he were part of Tinubu’s cabinet. However, el-Rufai rejected this notion, reaffirming that his criticisms of the APC would have remained unchanged regardless of his role in government.
