Economy: Akpabio is demonic, satanic by nature, insensitive– Jackson Lekan Ojo

A leading security expert in Nigeria, Mr Jackson Lekan Ojo, has criticised the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, for his recent comment encouraging Nigerians to eat wherever they find free food.

In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, Ojo described Akpabio as a misfit and highly insensitive to the plight of Nigerians, adding that the Senate President represents demonic and satanic forces plaguing the nation.

He explained that, by the implication of Akpabio’s gibberish, he was essentially encouraging Nigerians to resort to theft in the face of hardship. According to Ojo, this shows that the Senate President neither sympathises with nor understands the Nigerian people’s struggles with the galloping inflation that has impoverished the majority of them.

The security expert noted that the statement credited to the Senate President signals serious danger in the political sphere, revealing a total leadership failure.

Ojo added that while the Executive arm of government can be held in check by the parliament, the legislative body remains the bastion of democracy and the last hope for democratic survival. He said it is, therefore, catastrophic for the Chairman of the Nigerian National Assembly to be so callous and careless.

“With the Senate President’s statement, I can no longer recognise the parliament in Nigeria as the conscience of the public and the sanctuary of the common people, despite their statutory role as representatives of the people.

“Hundreds of security experts across the globe have been contacting me to confirm whether the statement truly originated from the Chairman of the National Assembly in Nigeria. They were seriously disappointed in Godswill Akpabio.

“I strongly doubt whether the Senate President is truly aligned with President Bola Tinubu, given his careless and unguarded utterances since becoming Senate President. I deeply sympathise with Nigerians, members of the National Assembly, and President Bola Tinubu for having a flippant and garrulous individual like Akpabio as the third most powerful person in Nigeria.

“This is the man who told Nigerians protesting against bad governance and unfavourable policies that they would be eating while impoverished Nigerians continued to protest.

“To demonstrate how hypocritical and deceptive Akpabio is, he recently told young Nigerians to stop seeking greener pastures abroad, while all his children live overseas.

“Akpabio is the most unpatriotic and undemocratic Senate President Nigeria has ever produced since independence. He passionately prefers foreign goods to Nigerian products; he is indeed a disaster for Nigeria,” the statement read.
