DSS Arrests Kano Activist Over Alleged Social Media Post

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested Zubair, a Kano-based activist and organizer for the Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), over a suspected Facebook post.

According to TIB, Zubair was taken into custody in the early hours of Thursday. While the DSS has not provided an official reason for the arrest, sources suggest it is related to a post critical of the government shared on Facebook.

TIB has condemned the arrest, describing it as a violation of free speech. The group also alleged that Zubair is being transferred to Abuja and demanded his immediate release.

In a statement, the group said: “Our Kano organizer, Zubair, was arrested by the DSS earlier today. Although the exact reason remains unknown, sources indicate it is connected to a Facebook post critical of the government.”
