DSS Allows Nnamdi Kanu’s Family, Lawyers to Visit After Pressure

The Department of State Services (DSS) allowed family members and lawyers of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to visit him on Friday, following pressure from his legal team and relatives.

Prior to this, Kanu’s lawyers and family had been unable to see him at the DSS office in Abuja.

Prince Emmanuel Kanu, Nnamdi’s younger brother, confirmed the visit was successful.

He called on the DSS to follow court orders that allow visits from family and lawyers twice a week.

Prince Kanu added that preventing access to Nnamdi Kanu harms Nigeria’s reputation, urging the government to ensure the DSS complies with legal orders regarding his brother’s detention.
