Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft, has described his divorce from Melinda Gates as one of the biggest regrets of his life.
According to Peoples Gazette, in an interview with The Times on Saturday, the 69-year-old tech billionaire reflected on the emotional toll of their separation after 27 years of marriage.
“I’m more cheerful now,” Gates admitted, but he referred to the divorce as “the mistake I most regret.”
While acknowledging that he had made other errors in his life, Gates emphasized that the end of his marriage was particularly difficult for both him and Melinda. “There are others, but none that matter,” he said. “The divorce thing was miserable for me and Melinda for at least two years.”
The couple officially announced their divorce in 2021, marking the end of nearly three decades together.
