Delta State Governor, Chief Sheriff Oborevweri, has relieved Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza of his role as the state’s Commissioner for Information.
According to The Nation, the reasons for the decision remain undisclosed, as the Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communication, Dr Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe, confirmed that Osuoza had been informed of the development.
A source privy to the matter, who requested anonymity, disclosed that the governor has assigned Charles Aniagwu, the current Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), to oversee the Ministry of Information temporarily.
Oghenesivbe further explained that an official announcement from the governor would soon follow. In the meantime, Aniagwu will manage both ministries and is expected to assume his additional responsibilities starting Monday.
Reports suggest that Osuoza’s removal followed multiple complaints regarding his performance in office. Aniagwu, who served as Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information under former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, is now tasked with handling the dual roles.
