Dear Jimoh Ibrahim, You are on your own on Akeredolu’s re-election

By Comrade Omopariola Dare

Dear Chief Jimoh Ibrahim, I learnt you joined the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) yesterday with a lot of promises to ensure the victory of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on October 10, 2020, amidst pageantry and fanfare by our governor while some members of the APC have been singing your praises since yesterday, the moment after this declaration.

Sir, I only want to tell you that you don’t have our mandate in Ikale as regards the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State. The truth is, you are truly wealthy but not popular especially in the politics of Ondo State.

You are simply on your own on this political mission of working for the re-election of Governor Akeredolu.

Have you forgotten that your Senatorial District was subjected to protracted darkness due to absence of electric power supply since 2014?
All economic activities for more than a decade were paralyzed thereby landing the people to excruciating suffering.

Most of the wealthy people including you till now failed to financially support the most reliable agitation which was solely designed for bringing back the light to the abandoned region.

How can u think you would have the mandate of the same people you abandoned for years, in the quest for your personal and political interest which is aimed at cementing your personal and business relationship with the governor?

Our dear chief, the outbreak of the pandemic speaks volume and has also revealed a lot to us about your person. With the sufferings of our people, you donated a colossal sum of money to the government and not to the vulnerable citizens of your father’s land.

Though I believed you made this donation not because you wanted the people to be relieved but because of your personal economic benefits. Such donations triggered the annoyance of the people especially the less privileged ones. How could you have received the favour of the same people you abandoned to support a failed mission?

There is no gainsaying in the fact that wealth is not a leading channel to popularity. Your vow to deliver the state to the incumbent governor is a mirage and dead on arrival.

Sir, on this, you are simply on your own (O.Y.O).
