By Mike Kuwoye

As part of measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, on Monday, ordered the total closure of markets across the state.

Despite this ban, Okitipupa market traders, in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, have failed to adhere strictly to this order.

Starnews NG reports that the traders were sighted around the main market of Okitipupa town, doing their normal trading business like before, because the main market has been shut down and the gates were under locks and keys by officials of Okitipupa local government.

One of the passersby who spoke with our correspondents under the condition of anonymity condemned the actions of the traders. He described it as an act of foolishness.
