Court Sacks APC Governorship Candidate

The Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that Emmanuel Bwacha’s nomination as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Taraba State was invalid.

The decision was handed down on Wednesday by a five-member panel led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

In a suit filed by governorship aspirant David Sabo Kente, a federal high court in Jalingo, Taraba state, first sacked Bwacha as the APC’s governorship candidate in September 2022.

The Supreme Court upheld the federal high court’s ruling that the APC did not hold a valid governorship primary in Taraba State, which resulted in Bwacha’s election as Governor.
