Court orders arrest of mother, son over N122 million theft

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the arrest and detention of Lola Disu and her son, Ahmed Disu, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly stealing office property valued at over N122 million from Uccas Resources Ltd.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro issued the order on Tuesday after the duo was arraigned by the police on a 14-count charge of conspiracy and theft.

The police alleged that on June 25, 2021, the defendants, along with others still at large, conspired to steal property from Uccas Resources Limited at No 16 Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Magboro Bus Stop, Ikeja, Lagos. The company is represented by its Managing Director, Ukata Christian.

Additionally, the defendants were accused of forging a court order with the inscription “possession taken by court order on June 25, 2021” intending to use it against Uccas Resources Ltd and its Managing Director.

The stolen property reportedly includes computers, office chairs and tables, air conditioners, printers, scanners, copiers, industrial water filters, heaps of undistributed copies of a cargo news publication, confidential documents, midgets, internet routers, a 2.9kva generator, fans, and other items.
