Chelsea appoint Seyi Olofinjana, one other to expand African scouting network

Premier League giants Chelsea FC have taken a significant step to bolster their presence in African football by appointing two key figures to oversee operations on the continent.

According to renowned football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, on Friday via X, the London-based club has brought on board Achirou Gaoh and Seyi Olofinjana to lead their African scouting efforts.

Romano wrote, “Understand Chelsea have appointed Achirou Gaoh and Seyi Olofinjana to oversee operations in Africa.”

This move accordingly is to tap into the rich vein of football talent that Africa has consistently produced over the years.

Romano further elaborated on Chelsea’s motivation, stating, “Chelsea want to cover Africa in the best way possible with scouting and appointments are now completed.”
