Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Monday night disclosed the list of appointed chairmen and vice-chairmen for the various standing committees within the upper legislative chambers.
The announcement was made during a Senate session that commenced at 9.59pm and concluded at 10.47pm, following the resumption of legislative activities from a break. As part of the proceedings, the Senate also decided to adjourn plenary until September 26th, marking the commencement of a substantial vacation period.
The unveiled list includes several notable figures who have been entrusted with the leadership of key committees, each playing a crucial role in the country’s governance and policy-making.
Among the prominent appointments, Senator Adams Oshiomhole of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Edo North, will take the helm of the Committee on Interior. Senator Sani Musa, also of the APC and representing Niger East, will assume the role of Chairman for the Committee on Finance.
Another notable appointment is that of Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, APC member from Oyo North, who will be responsible for leading the Committee on Aviation.
