BREAKING: Sudanese Army Reclaims Presidential Palace Amid Ongoing Civil War

The Sudanese army has regained control of the presidential palace in Khartoum after fierce battles, marking a significant development in the nearly two-year conflict.

The palace, a critical stronghold, had been under the control of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since the outbreak of hostilities in 2023. While the RSF had maintained dominance over large parts of the capital, recent military offensives have seen the army making advances, employing drones and heavy artillery to reclaim lost territories.

Military officials hailed the palace’s recapture as a major success, though intense clashes persist in other areas of Khartoum. Analysts suggest this shift could weaken the RSF’s influence in the city and alter the course of the ongoing conflict.

The war between the army and the RSF has devastated Sudan, leading to mass displacement and worsening humanitarian conditions. While the army’s latest victory is seen as a crucial step, the fight for control continues, leaving the country’s future uncertain.

Despite repeated calls from the international community for a ceasefire, peace negotiations have yet to bring an end to the prolonged hostilities.
