BREAKING: Protesters Ignite Bonfire at Government House

On Thursday morning, protesters rallying against economic hardship set a bonfire ablaze outside Government House in Kano.

The crowd, which had gathered from various parts of the city for a scheduled address by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, piled tyres at the entrance and set them on fire.

In response, security personnel at the Government House fired warning shots and deployed tear gas, leading to a chaotic dispersal of the protesters.
