BREAKING: PDP Reps walk out as House passes Electoral Act

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Friday walked out during consideration of the Electoral Act amendment bill.

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamiala had appealed to members to allow consideration of other sections of the bill while leaving out the contentious section 5.

However after the consideration, Minority Leader Ndidi Elumelu said the House cannot be asked to rescind decision on section since it was not ruled upon.

He led PDP members out of the floor of the House in protest.

But the House proceeded to pass the Electoral Act leaving the mode of transmission of results to the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to decide.
