BREAKING: Oyetola’s Top Aides Flee Abroad

  •  As Top Directors Decline To Implement Vehicle Sharing Directive

Less down 48 hours before the inauguration of Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Governor of Osun State, no fewer than seven top aides of the outgoing Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, have sneaked out of the state and fled abroad, Starnews Nigeria learnt on Friday.

Insider sources told Starnews Nigeria that a particular Commissioner who authorised multiple payments and award of contracts for parastatals under his ministry had pressed the exit button and left the country.

He was accused to have awarded multiple contracts and allegedly paid contractors even before award letters were issued.

Similarly, Starnews Nigeria was told on Friday night that the head of a counterpart agency of government in Osun State who executed many contracts has sneaked out of Osogbo to Europe; while the whereabouts of another Commissioner who played a key role in the execution of projects under the administration of Governor Oyetola remained unknown as at the time of filing this report.

The Chairman of a Commission who spent billion of naira on several alleged controversial programmes and questionable contracts has also left the country for the United Kingdom, a source hinted at Starnews Nigeria.

It was further learnt that some of the governor’s aides who are billed to press the exit button before the expiration of the governor’s tenure and the handover ceremony on Sunday are currently in Lagos and they plan to jet out of the country any moment soon.

Meanwhile, three top directors of the state government have reportedly refused to authorise the release of vehicles to some outgoing political appointees in the state.

The affected directors believed that such a directive did not follow due process. It was gathered their refusal did not go down well with the head of service who was reportedly carrying out the instruction of the outgoing governor.

Starnews Nigeria reports that the state governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke will be inaugurated on Sunday, November 27, 2022, as the next governor of Osun State following his declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the last governorship election conducted in the state.
