The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo South Senatorial District has cancelled the proposed consensus arrangement for all the governorship aspirants in the District.
The leaders of the party who met on Friday in Okitipupa town, headquarters of Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State, have directed all the aspirants to prepare for primary as there will no longer be a consensus arrangement.
The cancellation of the consensus arrangement for the Ondo South governorship aspirants might not be unconnected with the decision of the leaders to provide a level playing ground for all the said aspirants.
Initially, the leaders of the PDP in Ondo South had planned to present a consensus candidate for the party following the zoning of the governorship ticket to Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State by the State Working Committee of the PDP.
Starnews NG reports that the Gubernatorial primary is scheduled to hold on 25th April, 2024.
