BREAKING: Many Trapped as Three-storey Building Sinks After Heavy Rainfall in Ibadan

A three-storey building has reportedly collapsed after heavy rainfall in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The incident occurred in Inalende area, Mokola, Ibadan, on Monday morning, July 24, 2023.

It was said that there were like eight people in the residential building when the incident occurred, however, everyone was rescued by the residents of the community and the operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

An officer of the FRSC, Olarenwaju Sulaimon Abolore who confirmed the development to BBC Yoruba said the victims rescued have been conveyed to the hospital for proper treatment.

When asked about the cause of the incident, he said as an FRSC officer, he cannot ascertain it but urged the government to send appropriate personnel to the community as there are many buildings that needed attention to avoid future disasters.
