- Creates vacuum in southwest PDP
Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the Southwest Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the anointed candidate of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has emerged the winner for the position of Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP.
Starnews Nigeria reports that Arapaja defeated former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola at the PDP convention to emerge the winner of the election.
Arapaja polled 2,004 votes to defeat Oyinlola who polled 705 votes.
Total accredited voters stood at 3, 511 while 165 votes were voided.
Arapaja was declared winner of the election by the Chairman of the PDP National Convention Committee and Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri.
By the reasons of his emergence as the elected deputy national chairman (south) of the PDP, Starnews Nigeria can report that Arapaja has created a vacuum in the southwest PDP being the former chairman of the party in the region.
