Breaking: APC floors PDP in Obaseki’s LGA as collation resumes

The All Progressives Congress has taken Oredo Local Government Area as the Independent National Electoral Commission resumed the announcement of collated results from Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State.

With the 17th local government to be announced in its kitty, APC has won 11 LGAs, while the Peoples Democratic Party still has six.

For Oredo LGA, while APC garnered 30,780 votes, Labour Party polled 5,389 votes and PDP 24,938.

Oredo LGA is where the incumbent, Governor Godwin Obaseki, hails from.

Before the announcement of the latest result, the APC, with Monday Okpebholo as candidate, was leading with 244,549 votes, while Asue Ighodalo of the had 195,954 votes and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party 13,348 votes.

After adding the result from Oredo LGA, APC has now grossed 275,329 votes, while LP has 18,737 and PDP 220,892.
