BREAKING: Akinterinwa defeats Aiyedatiwa, others in Ondo 2024 opinion poll ahead of APC primary

In its contribution to the development of democracy in Ondo state and Nigeria at large, Starnews NG, conducted an online poll using a live voting system that allows users to see real-time results as they vote.

This poll was conducted for the good people of Ondo state to test the popularity and acceptance of the six major contenders under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo state, ahead of the party’s guber primary.

The major contenders Starnews NG selected were: Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, incumbent Governor of the state, Chief Olusola Oke, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, Wale Akinterinwa, Mayowa Akinfolarin and Hon. Jimi Odumayo.

Starnews NG invited all lovers of democracy to participate in the online poll which lasted for 5 days.

At the end of the poll, the results stand as follows:

Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa scored 1,165 votes, 32% of the total votes cast.

Olusola Oke garnered 398votes which is 11% of the total votes cast.

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim had 88 votes which is equivalent to 2% of the total votes cast.

Wale Akinterinwa secured 1,644 votes which equals 46% of the total votes cast.

Mayowa Akinfolarin had 78 votes which amounts to 2% of the total votes cast.

Hon. Jimi Odumayo scored 166 votes which is 4% of the total votes cast.

The total number of voters who participated in the online poll was 3, 535.

To sum it up, Starnews NG reports that Wale Akinterinwa, emerged winner of the poll having scored 1,644 votes, representing 46% of the total votes cast.

Starnews NG reports that the All Progressives Congress, APC, has slated her primary election for April 20, 2024, while the governorship election will hold on Saturday November 16, 2024.
