Former governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ondo State, Bamidele Akingboye, has emerged the new candidate of the Social Development Party, (SDP) ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.
Two top sources in the party hinted Starnews NG on Sunday on the development.
According to the sources, the substituted primary election of the party was held today in Akure.
“Akingboye resigned his membership of the PDP since over a month ago, about two weeks after the primary,” a top source disclosed.
“Due to the clarion calls from his supporters, he joined the SDP and emerge the party’s candidate at the substitution primary held today at the state Secretariat,” the source said.
The source further disclosed that Akingboye would be officially unveiled tomorrow at the party’s secretariat in Akure, the State capital.
His media adviser, Niyi Iwakun, didn’t answer his phone call for further confirmation, but sources at the SDP secretariat confidentially broke the news to Starnews NG.
