Just hours after an exclusive report by Starnews NG exposed a bribery scandal linked to the administration of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, his Special Assistant on Forestry (Central Senatorial District), Mr. Adeboye Taofiq Ewenla, has been relieved of his duties.
The dismissal, which takes immediate effect, comes amid accusations of bribery and intimidation levelled against Ewenla by timber merchants in the state.
In response contained in a statement issued by Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Governor has also called for a thorough investigation into the operations of officials overseeing the state’s forest reserves.
While no replacement has been announced yet, the Governor reiterated his commitment to maintaining integrity within his administration, urging all political appointees to adhere strictly to the law and the regulations governing their roles.
This development underscores the Governor’s stance against corruption and his promise to uphold accountability in public service.
