BREAKING: Aiyedatiwa Announces Change of Duty Among Akeredolu’s Aides

By: Ade Phillip

The Ondo State Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced change of duty among Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s Aides.

This is coming barely forty-eight hours after Aiyedatiwa was confirmed by the House of Assembly as the Acting Governor, following a letter to herald the medical leave of the Governor.

To this end, Aiyedatiwa said the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Omojuwa Olusegun, would oversee “the preparation and signing of his official engagement for the time being.”

In a circular letter with Ref no: FAD/DG.156/96, dated 14 December, 2023 and signed by Omojuwa Olusegun, the Acting Governor noted that Bola Alabi who is the Chief of Protocol would “take charge of this responsibility as soon as Mr. Governor resumes from his medical vacation”.

Starnews Nigeria reports that the state has been embroiled in heated controversy after Governor Akeredolu returned from medical leave in September 7, 2023.

The Governor who returned to Nigeria after three months of medical leave stayed at his Ibadan home, an action that triggered controversy.

However, there were calls in many quarters to declare Aiyedatiwa as the Acting Governor following the continued absence of the Governor and the unending political wrangling in the state.
