Breaking: Abducted Former EKSU Deputy VC Found Dead

The Ekiti State Police Command confirmed on Wednesday that the abducted former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Femi Olaofe, was found dead in the kidnappers’ den.

State Commissioner of Police, Adeniran Akinwale, disclosed that Professor Olaofe’s body was discovered in a shallow grave. The professor, who was kidnapped about three weeks ago from his residence in Ado-Ekiti, was reported dead early Wednesday morning.

Commissioner Akinwale stated, “Yes, the professor has been found dead. We are working to exhume the body for burial.”

He added that several suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping. “We suspect that the abduction involved insider assistance, possibly from the security guard employed by the professor. The abductors planned to kidnap him in a way that would divert suspicion. During the rescue operation, we have detained some individuals. I cannot provide further details about the security guard at this time, but we will update the public when appropriate.”
