Boko Haram Attacks Villagers, Travellers, Farmers In Borno, Killed 30

Over 30 people have been killed today along Damboa road when members of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram attacked some villagers, travellers and farmers between Maiduguri and Damboa road according to a report received by Daily Post from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Residents of Dala Alamderi in Maiduguri said they brought back corpses of four of the victims who left home early today to attend to their farms close to

Kukwayangiya village, about 21 kilometres from Maiduguri, the State capital.

Ahamadu Salisu, a brother to one of the victims told DAILY POST that, there are 8 others who left with them this morning but could not return.

Also in Maduganari ward of Maiduguri, residents said, 9 corpses of victims of the attack have been recovered while at Hajiya Zile, a suburb of Maiduguri, residents said 5 corpses were brought and have been buried.

Wife of one of the victims of the attacked farmers at Maduganari ward, Aisha Waziri told newsmen on Saturday that more than 30 farmers were killed when the terrorists attacked travellers.

According to Aisha, the attackers also burnt down some villages along the road.

A resident of Abuja Sharaton told DAILY POST that, soldiers have brought more corpses at Abuja Sharaton where one of the victims an unidentified person, who was hired to work on a farm for an old lady in the area also fall victim.

“There is currently argument ongoing between the soldiers and the lady, as the soldiers are asking the lady to bury the corpse since he was hired to work for her. But the lady was insisting that she only hired him and did not know the whereabouts of the family, as such it is the responsibility of the soldiers to take the corpse to the hospital and look for his family,” he said.

It was also gathered that many of the farmers affected were hired workers and IDPs who were living at the Bakassi IDPs camp in Maiduguri, who are mostly from Monguno and other villages in northern Borno.

The Military and the Police in Maiduguri are yet to make an official statement on this latest attack as at the time of filing this report even as residents in Maduganari, Kulolori, Bakassi IDP camp and Hajiya zille are burying their corpses
