Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, expressed his concerns about the judiciary’s role in determining the winners of elections, considering it an abnormal practice.
George criticized the electoral challenges faced by the PDP in the 2023 elections and called for the party’s restructuring to regain its lost prominence. He affirmed his commitment to remain in the party and help rebuild it into a formidable opposition party.
During a conversation with journalists at his office in Lagos, George discussed the Supreme Court verdict that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory. He emphasized his belief that the judiciary should not have the sole authority to decide election outcomes.
Regarding the state of the nation, the elder statesman stressed the need for the government to take concrete actions to alleviate the suffering of the masses. He further stated that he owed President Tinubu constructive criticism without any personal grudge.
