Bishop David Oyedepo’s Ark Legacy Project, commonly referred to as “The Ark,” is a monumental construction underway at the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) headquarters in Ota, Ogun State.
Once completed, it is expected to be the world’s largest Christian worship auditorium, capable of seating over 106,000 people.
The project kicked off in March 2021 after a delay attributed to divine instruction, and is being constructed on 1,000 acres of land near Covenant University.
The architectural design of The Ark mirrors the biblical Noah’s Ark and will feature advanced facilities, including escalators, air conditioning, prayer booths, a baptismal pool, a twin 12-story Mission Tower, and an audio-visual theater.
The old Faith Tabernacle, which seats 50,000, will be repurposed as an overflow facility.
With a projected cost of over ₦160 billion (approximately $200 million), the project has been self-funded by the church, without soliciting external contributions from members.
The Ark is poised to redefine megachurch architecture globally, and despite criticisms regarding the financial outlay amidst Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges, the church views it as part of its mission to spread the gospel and elevate the country’s global image.
Completion is expected soon, with many anticipating the grand unveiling during major church events like Shiloh.
