The Spiritual Leader of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo spoke during Living Faith Church Annual Youth Alive Convention 2023. While delivering his sermon, he commented on the word Japa, the new catch phrase for unbridled migration by ‘desperate Nigerians’ in search of better paying jobs or other life supporting means. He sent message to Nigerians, saying running without God’s approval is useless.

Bishop David Oyedepo: “When our ministry had +18,000 as total annual income in 1984, we couldn’t rent a house of N5000. But we kept following Him. We didn’t run.

“You hear some people say, I want to leave Nigeria (JAPA), when my name comes out, I will come back. Sir, please relax. It is God who makes name. If God hasn’t approved it, no matter where you go, it will be useless. Remain focus for Rome wasn’t built in one day. Always pray that God should bless the works of your hands. Stop running. May your work receive favour today.”
