Bill to establish Federal University of Agriculture in Araromi Obu passes first reading

A bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture in Araromi Obu in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State has been read the first time on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday.

Nicholas Tofowomo, the Senator representing Ondo South at the National Assembly under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said he proposed the bill to enhance agricultural education in Nigeria.

Speaking with Starnews Nigeria’s correspondent on phone, Sen. Tofowomo said: “I proposed the university to enhance agricultural education not only in Ondo South but in Nigeria. And I want the university sited in Araromi Obu being one of the main sources of raw materials to major industries, he added.

    It’s the only town that generate more fund from agriculture to ondo state purse
