Benue Governor Laments Loss of 10 Lives in Truck Accident

Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has expressed profound sadness over a tragic accident that claimed the lives of at least ten individuals in the Okete community of Ohimini Local Government Area.

According to Afripost, the unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday morning along the Otukpo/Oweto Expressway, when a truck collided with a building, leaving several others injured and plunging the community into mourning.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia extended his condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Ohimini, and the local government leadership.

“The tragic loss of ten lives in the Okete community is deeply saddening. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased, as well as those who have been injured,” Governor Alia said. “This heartbreaking event has left the entire state grieving.”

The governor reassured the affected families of the government’s unwavering support during this difficult time and promised to stand by them as they navigate their loss.

He further emphasized the administration’s commitment to investigating the incident thoroughly, with the aim of implementing measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
