#BayelsaDecides2023 : INEC Cries For Help, As Officials Are Held Hostage in Brass LGA

 

 

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission has raised the alarm that its officials were being held hostage in Brass LGA of Bayelsa state

 

 

The commission had declared the results of three LGAs out of the eight council areas where the Saturday’s governorship election took place.

 

 

In terse statement on X on Sunday, INEC said, “the Unfolding Situation in Brass Local Government Area.

” The Commission is closely watching the situation in Brass LGA of Bayelsa State where our officials are held hostage.

“This is detrimental to credible elections. We call on the security agencies to immediately facilitate their release.”
