Bandits Impose 11 Million Naira Levy On Niger State Villages

In a shocking turn of events, bandits have demanded 11 million Naira from villages in the Mariga Local Government area of Niger State, conditioning the payment on the villagers’ ability to harvest their crops. This brazen move affects farmers from Dusai, Holobo, Sabon Wuri, and Hunyo, all located in the Mohoro district.

The bandits are also making additional demands, including motorcycles, food, and mobile phones, in exchange for the release of kidnapped villagers. This disturbing trend highlights the escalating insecurity and extortion faced by rural communities in Nigeria.
