Bandits Attack Katsina Community, Kill One and Abduct Women, Children

By: Bayero Ade

Bandits launched a brutal assault on Mai Bakko, a community in Katsina State, late last night, resulting in one fatality and the abduction of several individuals, including women and children.

According to Afripost, security analyst Bakatsine, who monitors developments in Northern Nigeria, expressed concern over the increasing frequency of attacks on Southern Katsina communities, especially in light of a recent peace agreement between bandits and government authorities.

“It is troubling that while steps are being taken to address insecurity in Kaduna, bandits are reportedly shifting their operations to neighboring states such as Katsina. This shift points to the need for a more comprehensive security approach,” Bakatsine remarked.

Residents of Mai Bakko remain in fear, as authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of victims taken. The local community is calling on the government to take immediate measures to prevent future attacks.

The attack serves as another stark reminder of the ongoing security crisis facing Nigeria’s northern region.
