—INEC Heads To Court Over BVAS Re-Configuration
The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday stormed the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja for a ‘black uniform’ protest over the outcome of the 2023 presidential elections.
The PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu; the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates of the party in the just-concluded election, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, including Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State were among leaders of the party that protested at the INEC’s office today.
The PDP leaders as well as supporters stormed the INEC headquarters wearing black clothes to protest against the just concluded presidential election that saw the All progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu, declared winner of the presidential poll.
Supporters of the PDP held placards with various inscriptions such as: “Nigerians have lost confidence in INEC”, “INEC is subverting the will of the people”, “We stand for justice, we fight for a new Nigeria”, among others.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Borno State may drag the governing All Progressives Congress in the state to court over the results of the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.
APC won the presidential election in the state as well as all the three senatorial and nine of the ten of House of Representatives seats in the state.
“We have been robbed,” the Borno State PDP governorship candidate, Mohammed Jajari, alleged at a news conference in Maiduguri on Monday, saying “we will challenge the result before the court.”
He alleged that the February 25 election was flawed with “a lot of irregularities comprising inflated votes, change of result sheets and the failure to use BVAS machines.”
Jajari explained that all stakeholders and officials of the opposition party had been holding consultations on the need to challenge the election results in court.
He, however, urged all the party supporters in the state to turn out en masse to cast their votes at the March 11 governorship and state assembly election.
“They are only complaining after failing to their homework well to win the elections,” Borno State APC Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, reacted to the PDP allegation, saying, “we are waiting for them to go to court with evidences.”
INEC Heads To Court Over BVAS Re-Configuration
The Independent National Electoral Commission will today approach the Court of Appeal seeking to set aside an earlier ruling concerning the Biometric Voter Accreditation System.
This was made known by a senior official of the commission, who pleaded not to be named over the weekend in Abuja.
The official said, “We have to approach the court to grant us leave to do the re-configuration, as this cannot be done without the court order. The re-configuration must be done on time as it would be done manually and would be deployed to the designated PUs.”
