In his efforts to broker peace in the lingering feud between popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall popularly called KWAM 1, and his estranged lead drummer, Ayankunle Ayanlowo, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Oyebola Ajirotutu Adeyeri III, has called on both parties to reconcile and allow peace reign.
The monarch, who addressed journalists in his palace in Iseyin in the Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Monday after Ayankunle paid a visit upon monarch’s invitation over the issue, said both Wasiu Ayinde and Ayankunle Ayanlowo have strong connections with Iseyin, imploring them to give room for reconciliation.
He said, “One being an in-law while the other is a son of Ado-Awaye, a community under the local government. So, I have no choice but to wade into the crisis and seek a peaceful settlement.
“I have heard what Kunle said about his experience at his work and also listened to the video made by his former boss, Wasiu Ayinde. All I will say is that both of them should allow peace to reign. I told Kunle to stop posting videos, and abusing his former boss and I have started efforts to reach out to K1 to speak with him and ask for a peaceful reconciliation.
“I have read and listened to many angles to the issue from individuals taking sides, but as a monarch, I will want peace and not for this to continue,” the monarch said.
In his response, the former lead drummer confirmed that the revered monarch had asked him to stop making confrontational videos or interviews.
Ayankunle said, “They said I should not attack anyone anymore through social media or live interviews and I have agreed with the monarch. I just want to start by appreciating those who stood with me during my travail till now, those who heard my voice and have supported me morally, spiritually and financially.
“I pray that the Lord Almighty will not abandon them all; their children will never suffer in their efforts to seek survival.”
Starnews NG had reported that Ayankunle accused the Fuji musician of a poor welfare package for his band members, a claim that KWAM 1 has since refuted.
