Armed robbers attack Ibadan Poly, shoot lecturer

A lecturer in the Department of Biology, Mr Okedara Emmanuel was shot by armed robbers who invaded the staff quarters of the Polytechnic of Ibadan in the early hours on Monday.

Mr Soladoye Adewole, the Public Relations Officer of the institution confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN

The attack occurred at about 12:30 a.m at the North campus of Ibadan Polytechnic.

He added that Emmanuel, was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan for the treatment of the gunshot wounds

But Adewole said that no life was lost in the attack. The matter has been reported to the police and security has been scaled up at the campus, he added. (NAN)
