Aregbesola’s Camp Open to Reconciling with Tinubu

The Omoluabi Progressives, a political group linked to former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, has shown openness to advice suggesting that Aregbesola should seek reconciliation with President Bola Tinubu.

This follows comments made by Wole Oke, a House of Representatives member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, who urged Aregbesola to mend ties with his former political ally.

Speaking on Monday, the group’s Organising Secretary, Oluwaseun Abosede, said they are considering Oke’s suggestion, as they continue to gather opinions from various stakeholders.

Abosede acknowledged that different political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), have invited Aregbesola to join their ranks since his departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The advice comes amid growing political tensions in Osun State. Aregbesola’s Omoluabi Progressives recently cut ties with the APC due to long-standing disagreements with the party’s leadership, particularly with former governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

Reports suggest that Aregbesola’s fallout with Tinubu also played a role in his exit.

Oke, a PDP chieftain, had taken to social media to encourage Aregbesola to reconcile with Tinubu, describing him as a strong political figure with deep influence in Osun.

He also urged the PDP to take advantage of the APC’s internal conflicts to strengthen their position in the state.

While the Omoluabi Progressives have not made any final decisions, they indicated that Oke’s advice will be carefully reviewed as part of their ongoing consultations.
