The All Progressives Congress’ (APC) governorship candidate, Ahmed Ododo is leading the Social Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Murtala Ajaka with 24,773 votes after the announcement of results in 18 local government areas in Kogi State.
The results of three local governments are still being expected.
So far, the APC’s candidate has polled 396,276 votes while Ajaka scored 371,503 votes.
Ododo got his biggest votes in Okene LG, where he polled 138,416 votes, while PDP’s Dino Melaye got 1,463 and Ajaka, 271 votes.
He also garnered 101,156 votes in Adavi, with Melaye scoring 1,005 and Ajaka, 268 votes. Ododo also got 53,062 votes in Okehi. Melaye came second with 2,722 votes and Ajaka, 143 votes.
However, Ajaka got his biggest votes from Dekina LG, where he polled 43,258 votes, while Ododo scored 7,174 votes and Melaye, 498 votes.
Ajaka also won big in Ankpa, polling 43,258 votes, while Ododo came second with 8,707 votes and Melaye, 3,654 votes.
the SDP’s candidate won Ofu LG with 28,768 votes, with the APC’s candidate coming second with 5,245 votes.
