The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the closure of its national secretariat in Abuja, commonly referred to as Buhari House, in response to the tragic murder of its Director of Administration, AbdulRauf Adeniji.
In a memo titled ‘Secretariat Closure for the Mourning of the Director of Administration’, released on Thursday, the APC confirmed the decision following the unfortunate news of Adeniji’s death, which occurred after he was kidnapped several weeks ago.
The closure of the secretariat will take effect on Monday, 14th April 2025. The ruling party has encouraged all staff members to utilise this mourning period for reflection and prayer for Adeniji’s family and loved ones.
Additionally, the APC stated that a condolence register will be opened at the National Secretariat in honour of the late director.
The memo states: “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National Secretariat from all party activities with immediate effect until Monday, 14th April 2025. This decision follows the receipt of the sorrowful news regarding the passing of the Director of Administration, the Late Honourable AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji.”
