Akinlaja trains 80 youths on capacity building, skills in Ondo

As part of efforts to build capacity and skills for the youths, a former member of the House of Representatives and the Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party in Ondo State, Hon. (Dr) Joseph Iranola Akinlaja has facilitated the training of 80 youths on capacity building and skills acquisition in Ondo Kingdom, the headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The three days capacity training and Entrepreneurship programme was organised in collaboration with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) at AKIAVIC EXECUTIVE HALL, Ademulegun road, Ondo City, Ondo State.

The participants were drawn from various communities, villages and settlements across his Federal Constituency which includes Ondo East and West Local Governments respectively.

The three days training programme started on Wednesday, December 3, and ended on Friday, December 5, 2020.

Starnews Nigeria reports that the participants were trained in confectionery and household products such as Cake and Soapmaking, Air fresher and disinfectant production, Egg roll & meat pie Makeup, and auto gele etc.

The representative of the National Directorate of Empowerment (NDE) in Ondo State Chapter, Bode Ogunsakin, charged the participants to explore the opportunity to be self-reliant.

He commended the organiser for his philanthropic intent which he said will continue to have unparalleled influence in the lives of young people in the society.

Certificates of participation issued by NDE were presented to all the participants during the grand finale of the event.

While given cash grant to the participant as Startup Capital, Hon. Akinlaja, in his goodwill message, implored all the beneficiaries to be a good Ambassador of Ondo Kingdom.

He enjoined them to use the funds and knowledge garnered during the three days training exercise for their common good to become self-reliant.

He also advised the participants to always be conscious of their responsibilities of impacting others for the development of Ondo kingdom.
